Application Information

The Lafayette Housing Authority (LHA) officially closed its Section 8 HCV Waiting list on October 14, 2014 for Lafayette and Vermillion Parishes.  Pre-applications are no longer available in any form.  Confirmation numbers of Families successful in the Lottery Waiting List will be published at after November 1,2014. Families who did not make the lottery waiting list will have an opportunity in the future when the waiting list reopens.  No reopening date is scheduled at this time.  Successful families will be contacted by the Housing Authority confirming their position on the waiting list and giving information on where to update their application information in the future as needed.  It is the families responsibility to make sure all information is accurate at all times.


In compliance with the LHA Administrative Plan, after October 14, 2014 a computerized Lottery will be conducted by a third party vendor to establish the list of 1,000 names only.  Instructions and Winning Confirmation numbers will be placed on the Housing Authority website at by November 1, 2014.  No ranking will be placed by time and date, local approved preferences will be applied after lottery.
